His seminars have been attended by over 220,000 people. 85,000 in Australia have attended his main courses. Michael is also well known for his work with teenagers. He invited them to attend his courses for free and over 8,600 have come in the last few years.
In May 1996 he was invited to consult with the Duchess of York (‘Fergie’), for three weeks in the U.K., during her divorce form Prince Andrew, and she enjoyed a decade of great success after that. Michael, and his wife Paulina were joined for a day by Princess Diana who showed a genuine interest in personal development.
He also occasionally joined overseas best selling authors on seminar tours around Australia. He has toured the capital cities of the mainland with Deepak Chopra, Louise Hay, Marianne Williamson, Wayne Dyer, Shakti Gawain and James Redfield, the author of ‘Celestine Prophecy’, who are the leaders in personal growth in America. These sell out tours were attended by over 40,000 people.
Prior to commencing his seminar work twenty five years ago, Michael was highly successful in the Australian film and television industry. He worked on a number of films and TV documentaries, dramas and feature films, starting as an assistant director in 1969, on Skippy the Kangaroo, Spyforce, with Jack Thompson, ‘Age of Consent’ with James Mason and Helen Mirren, and ‘Wake in Fright’ with Donald Pleasance. In 1985, he directed several episodes of the world wide smash hit television series ‘Return to Eden’. In 1986, he left the industry to begin his career researching and teaching about the mind and consciousness.
In addition to presenting his personal development courses, he returned in 2009 to feature films dealing with the subjects he covers in his seminars, and converting them into a fictional setting. He wrote, directed and acted in the cinema film ‘Being in Heaven’, which had national exhibition with Palace Cinemas and was sold worldwide by the Spiritual Cinema Circle.
Since his youth, Michael has also studied a number of different meditation and mind exploration methods in the U.K. Australia, India and the U.S.A. He was trained as an advanced teacher of meditation in the school of Paramahamsa Muktananda of India, one of the last century’s greatest teachers. In 1979 he was appointed a director of Muktananda’s school in Sydney, where he taught on a voluntary basis for three years.
He has also toured England, the Amazon jungle, and the U.S.A. interviewing twenty of the top transpersonal psychiatrists, psychologists, physicists and biologists for documentary videos on the mind and consciousness, which he is presenting and directing. The first of these, ‘Ecstatic States’ with Ram Dass (Dr. Richard Alpert), has been released worldwide.
He has also directed, and presents, a video educational series on personality and relationships, again interviewing the leading authorities from the U.S.A. in the field.
Michael lived with his wife, Paulina Domeyko, and their son and daughter near Byron Bay, Australia. Michael has taken his wife’s name into his own.
